About the role

  • Maintain personal technical expertise and commercial knowledge of Rockwell Automation Smart Process products and industrial automation environments and applications
  • Serve as APAC regional technical expert to support marketing and sales in pre-sales engagements, system architecture reviews, proofs of concept, and recommendations
  • Work with Marketing, Sales, and Engineering to enable customers' successful implementation of systems using Rockwell Automation products
  • Prepare technical documentation, presentations, webinars, videos, and tools to improve Salesforce and domain expert effectiveness
  • Support trade shows by creating presentations, demonstrations, and hands-on labs
  • Conduct customer demonstrations remotely and in Customer Solution and Experience Centers
  • Build data-driven business cases and write commercial justifications; analyze pipeline, win–loss, attach, and usage data to identify product/offer gaps and measure impact
  • Present qualitative and quantitative value of proposed edge-to-cloud solutions and conduct consultative pre-sales technology workshops with customers, SIs, and regional experts
  • Report to Director, SWC AP and work in a hybrid model from Gurgaon, Pune, or Bangalore; travel up to 35% to support trade shows, training, and customer visits

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 10 years of demonstrated experience with control system design and supporting customer applications
  • Ability to operate across time zones; triage ambiguous problems, propose options with trade‑offs, and lead decisions
  • Familiar with containerized solutions such as Kubernetes, Docker, Jenkins
  • Proficient in JavaScript (or VBScript/ASP), C#, and other web-related technologies (Java, HTML, servlets, XML, Webservices API)
  • Understanding of PI Historian, InfluxDB, In-SQL RDBMS concepts
  • Proficient in SQL and PostgreSQL
  • Experience with Industrial DataOps solutions (Cognite / FTDM SaaS)
  • Preferably software industry experience and expertise with Microsoft Azure and Power BI
  • Experience communicating with customer IT representatives about IT/OT integration and policies
  • Experience with FactoryTalk Optix, Optix Edge, Embedded Edge, Industrial AI applications (Guardian AI, Logix AI, Vision AI, FactoryTalk DataMosaix)
  • Knowledge of Rockwell Automation products (PLCs, Motor Control, Operator Interface, Networking/Communication, Information Software, Safety, I/O)
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure or virtualization software is a plus
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize accordingly
  • Capable to lead projects and/or project teams
  • Willingness to travel up to 35%
