About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop, execute, and maintain functional, integration, system, regression, performance, and user acceptance test plans.
  • Create detailed test scripts, test scenarios, and supporting test data based on documented business and technical requirements.
  • Execute manual and automated testing activities throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Identify, document, prioritize, and track software defects through resolution while working closely with development teams.
  • Validate system functionality against approved business requirements, technical specifications, and acceptance criteria.
  • Support Configuration and Integration Testing (CIT) activities to ensure applications are fully validated before production deployment.
  • Participate in Integrated Design Reviews (IDR), Functional Readiness Reviews (FRR), deployment readiness reviews, and production validation activities.
  • Maintain testing documentation, defect logs, traceability records, and quality metrics supporting program governance.
  • Collaborate with Business Analysts, Test Case Designers, engineers, and project managers to continuously improve testing processes and software quality.
  • Recommend improvements to testing strategies, automation opportunities, and quality assurance processes that strengthen overall program performance.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Three (3) years of experience performing software testing, quality assurance, or systems validation within enterprise IT environments.
  • Experience developing test plans, executing test cases, documenting defects, and supporting software quality assurance activities.
  • Familiarity with the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), Agile, Scrum, SAFe, or hybrid development methodologies.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps, Jira, HP ALM, Selenium, or similar testing and defect management tools is preferred.
  • ISTQB Foundation Level, Certified Software Tester (CSTE), or equivalent testing certification is preferred.
  • Experience supporting VA, VHA, DHA, or other Federal healthcare organizations, health IT, telehealth, or Federal program management is preferred.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Level 3 Public Trust clearance.
