About the role

  • Lead Rocketship Tennessee’s Board of Directors coordination, ensuring board operations and meetings are strategic, compliant, and operationally smooth.
  • Plan and execute national board and committee meeting logistics and attend in person.
  • Coordinate agenda and materials development for board and committee meetings with a strategic lens.
  • Direct board-related processes including member selection/appointments, form collections, calendar creation, and trainings.
  • Develop and evolve systems and processes to support board management work and collaborate with National Compliance.
  • Lead development and execution of a multi-year growth strategy to expand Rocketship in Tennessee.
  • Assess potential new school sites via market research, enrollment demand analysis, and partnership building.
  • Manage the charter application and authorization process with Tennessee Public Charter School Commission and Metro Nashville Public Schools.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams for facilities acquisition, staff recruitment, and campus launches.
  • Build relationships with community leaders, families, elected officials, and philanthropic partners to cultivate support for growth.
  • Direct projects related to compliance challenges, monitor new laws and requirements, and develop systems to remain in compliance.
  • Serve as a resource for teams and regions on compliance questions and collaborate with National NeST compliance team.
  • Direct regional communications strategy and develop internal communications to ensure staff are informed, aligned, and engaged.
  • Partner with senior leadership to streamline communication across academics, operations, and talent and facilitate feedback loops with school leaders.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 7 years of work experience in roles that include systems-building, project management components, and/or consulting.
  • Minimum of 3 years of full-time people management and team leadership experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Experience working in/with schools preferred; eagerness to spend time in schools if absent.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, both orally and written.
  • Deep experience with campaign and digital marketing development and using data to drive decision-making.
  • Relationship-building and influencing skills, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Creative, ambitious and highly adept in designing and implementing cohesive project plans and cross-functional strategies.
  • Experience in a non-profit and/or start up.
  • Results and quality-focused with an eye for detail.
