About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide day-to-day technical support to EHR end-users, troubleshoot issues, answer questions, and resolve system errors
- Log, track, document, and manage support requests in the service management system
- Escalate issues and engage appropriate resources when needed
- Perform software updates, patches, upgrades, and routine EHR maintenance
- Participate in on-call rotations for critical after-hours system issues
- Test and validate system changes, enhancements, and upgrades using change management processes
- Contribute to EHR implementation projects, system upgrades, and other initiatives
- Configure and customize EHR systems to support healthcare provider workflows and approved optimizations
- Document build decisions and configuration changes
- Participate in workflow discovery sessions and cross-functional project teams
- Develop and deliver end-user training materials and sessions
- Support go-live activations and provide at-the-elbow assistance during system transitions
- Engage with EHR vendor support, monitor release notes, and attend user group sessions
- Maintain documentation of system configurations, user procedures, and support issues
- Build and maintain relationships with clinical and operational stakeholders
- Handle protected health information in accordance with HIPAA and organizational privacy and security policies
- Complete required compliance training and follow information security standards
Requirements
What you’ll need- 0–2 years of experience in Information Technology, Healthcare Information Systems, Clinical Informatics, EHR Support, or a related role
- Experience involving application support, system implementation, workflow analysis, system testing, configuration, training, or end-user support
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and within teams
- Ability to solve problems and respond effectively to customer needs
- Working knowledge of healthcare workflows, terminology, and business processes
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 or equivalent productivity tools
- Epic certifications required within six months of hire
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, healthcare, or a related field listed as preferred
- 1 year of applicable IT or relevant healthcare experience listed as preferred
- Ability to comply with HIPAA regulations, data privacy policies, and information security standards
