About the role

  • Oversee front end revenue cycle functions (pre-registration, insurance verification, point-of-service cash collections, financial counseling, registration) across multiple hospital settings
  • Work collaboratively with hospital leaders, administration, and revenue cycle to support RRH operations
  • Serve hospitality and safety functions to ensure high patient satisfaction
  • Prepare and analyze reports on department denials and track/trend productivity and quality
  • Utilize information within Care connect to identify opportunities to optimize and streamline workflows
  • Ensure accuracy of data to support account integrity and claims submission
  • Monitor departments for compliance with NYS regulations and revenue cycle procedures
  • Responsible for financial operations of the department, review monthly financial performance, participate in annual budget development, and implement plans to meet budget goals
  • Encourage continuing education and job development; mentor and coach direct reports
  • Participate with HR in recruitment, hiring, coaching, mentoring, and termination of access staff
  • Maintain adequate staffing coverage for 24/7 hospital operations and organize day-to-day department activity
  • Maintain standardized workflows and best practices; perform subordinate duties when necessary
  • Participate with director in reviewing performance indicators (account work queues, point of service collection, initial denials, new medical record creation)
  • Assist with registration/admissions of patients as assigned

Requirements

  • 3 - 5 years’ experience in a hospital or practice setting
  • At least 2 of those years leading operational support staff required
  • Managing registration/ admitting/ billing practices preferred
  • S - Sedentary Work - Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally
  • Ability to participate in recruitment, hiring, coaching, mentoring, and termination of access staff
  • Ability to perform duties of subordinate staff when necessary to maintain operations
