About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform investment accounting activities, including preparation, review and analysis of monthly, quarterly and annual schedules and supporting exhibits.
- Maintain investment accounting policies and procedures; research and implement new accounting guidance.
- Prepare and review account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Support expense management processes, including monitoring, analyzing and reporting.
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting, including variance analysis.
- Analyze financial results and provide variance and root cause explanations.
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and consistency.
- Participate in or lead special projects, as assigned.
- Provide guidance and support to less experienced team members.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or a related field
- CPA a plus
- 4+ years of related experience [OR] equivalent level of education and experience
- Experience with investment accounting preferred
- Experience with insurance investment accounting systems (e.g., CAMRA, Singularity, Clearwater, Bloomberg) a plus
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including ability to research and apply investment accounting guidance
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ability to work with large datasets
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with ability to present findings to management
- Ability to exercise sound judgment, pay attention to detail and manage multiple priorities
