About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Independently assess financial processes under the direction of Risk Management Leadership
- Serve as a critical resource in the medical malpractice discovery process
- Compile, analyze, and evaluate data using investigative and statistical methods, benchmark data, and comparative measures
- Audit and process incoming defense invoices and settlements to ensure accurate payment
- Manage international wire transfers and maintain accurate records of financial transactions with retained counsel and experts
- Collect insurance supporting documentation for the annual insurance renewal process
- Independently manage the Origami Risk Management platform, including maintaining current PLGL claims status
- Collaborate with internal and external credentialing offices to provide evidence of coverage and claims histories
- Maintain the RHS Virginia Birth Injury–Neurological Injury Compensation provider database
- Renew existing providers and add new providers
- Support medical malpractice discovery, including producing medical records and incident reports, locating witnesses, and scheduling depositions and legal meetings
- Serve as a notary for the organization
- Support adding and deleting drivers from the health system's authorized drivers program
- Communicate with external customers and assist with grievances and complaints
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's Degree in a related field (Required)
- 2 years working within an integrated Risk Management Program for a large health system (Required)
- 3–4 years of experience handling complex legal production requests (Preferred)
- Certified Professional in Health Care Risk Management (CPHRM) certification required within 1 year
- Ability to independently assess financial processes and incoming data
- Knowledge of investigative and statistical methods, benchmark data, and comparative measures
- Experience auditing and processing defense invoices and settlements
- Ability to manage international wire transfers and maintain accurate financial transaction records
- Ability to use the Origami Risk Management platform
- Ability to collaborate with internal and external credentialing offices
- Notary capability
- Ability to communicate with external customers and resolve grievances and complaints
