About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serves as the Finance representative for the acute care hospital(s) and integration of non-acute services.
- Supports operating groups, identifying opportunities for process improvements, revenue enhancements, cost containments, and business and market share growth.
- Works in conjunction with Accounting, Reimbursement, Budget, Cost Accounting, Revenue Integrity, and Decision Support areas.
- Analyzes data from multiple sources using Excel, Access, SQL, etc. for decision making.
- Completes proformas, financial analysis, monthly cash and allowance forecasts, long range planning, and assists with budgeting.
- Performs monthly analytical assessments and creates progress reports for management.
- Performs data mining of department data structures to uncover trends in financial performance.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelors Degree, Accounting, Accounting Information Systems, or Business Administration/Finance (Required).
- 3-4 years related Healthcare finance experience (Required).
- Aptitude and ability to extract data from information systems using various report writers and software packages.
- In depth knowledge of Microsoft Excel required (VBA preferred).
- Working knowledge of databases and database software required.
- Ability to work independently, is flexible and has the ability to prioritize workload.
- Strong problem solving, data analysis, and decision making skills.
- Requires professional written and verbal communication skills.
- Certified Healthcare Financial Professional (CHFP) - Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) (Preferred).
