About the role
- Oversee operational risk data sets, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and timely delivery for reporting and analysis.
- Prepare and deliver regular and ad hoc reports for Operational Risk, maintaining strong data governance and addressing business insights requests.
- Develop and maintain interactive dashboards (e.g., Power BI) to support self-service data exploration and monitor key risk indicators (KRIs).
- Automate data transformation, reporting, and analytics processes using tools such as VBA, SQL, Python, Rivery etc to reduce manual tasks.
- Identify emerging risks, conduct deep-dive analyses, uncover trends, root causes, and provide data-driven insights for operational risk management.
- Support incident reporting, loss data management, and ensure data accuracy and integrity in risk-related processes.
- Collaborate with teams such as IT, Data, and Operational Risk etc to ensure effective data governance, accessibility, and alignment with business needs.
- Contribute to the enhancement of data processes, reporting frameworks, and risk management policies to improve operational efficiency.
- Develop and maintain documentation, user guides, and training materials to improve data literacy and support teams in managing operational risk.
- Support compliance with internal policies, external regulations, and audit requirements.
- Provide support to teams across the business on using data to understand and manage operational risk.
Requirements
- Strong proficiency in data visualisation and analytics tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, SQL, Python etc).
- In-depth understanding of operational risk concepts and frameworks.
- Experience working with large, complex datasets from multiple sources.
- Ability to communicate technical insights clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Comfortable with ambiguity, change, and managing shifting priorities.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across teams and stakeholders.
- Proven experience in risk analytics, data analysis, or business intelligence within retail, FMCG, or fast-paced consumer environments.
- Experience in fashion retail or eCommerce.
- Familiarity with regulatory risk requirements in the UK and Ireland.
- Understanding of enterprise risk management systems and risk event reporting tools.
- Ability to use AI tools to enhance analysis e.g., machine learning, predictive analytics etc.
