About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Proactively prospect and cold call new customers
  • Manage existing customer accounts
  • Sell Ritchie Bros. multi-channel solutions within the assigned territory
  • Develop business, plan sales activity, and manage the pipeline
  • Grow sales with new business and support existing business through customer relationships
  • Build and maintain the territory playbook and regularly use Salesforce CRM
  • Understand customer needs and provide customized solutions through presentations
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to negotiate and close deals
  • Attend 5 to 7 auction sales in the region, for 1 to 2 days each
  • Travel overnight approximately 1 to 2 days before each auction sale
  • Perform other assigned duties

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5 to 10 years in a structured outside/field sales role
  • Consistent record of meeting or exceeding sales quotas in B2B consultative sales or territory management
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • Experience in heavy equipment, construction equipment, vocational transportation, or trucking equipment industries preferred
  • Experience in quota-driven sales required
  • Knowledge of construction, transportation, mining, or forestry industries highly desirable
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to build and maintain authentic customer relationships
  • Ability to diagnose customer challenges and translate insights into actionable business opportunities
  • Solution design skills with strong attention to detail
  • Experience managing complex sales cycles
  • C-level negotiation skills and ability to present value-driven proposals to economic decision-makers and company owners
  • Ability to work primarily from a home office and on the road
  • Ideally based in the South Shore of Montreal region
