About the role
- Provide risk management, loss prevention, and safety services focused on workers’ compensation, general liability, and automobile losses
- Work closely with transportation clients offering safety compliance expertise
- Conduct transportation compliance and risk assessments
- Develop and implement customized solutions to manage exposures and mitigate losses
- Provide advisory and technical support to clients
- Conduct safety assessments at client facilities across various occupancies (manufacturing, hospitals, universities, real estate, retail, process industries)
- Recommend, implement, and improve safety and loss control programs based on loss history, regulations, organizational needs, and industry best practices
- Collaborate with claims and analytics teams to review large losses and analyze loss trends
- Manage relationships between insurers' loss control and clients; coordinate visits and service plans
- Review and assist in client safety program development
- Prepare written responses to insurer risk improvement recommendations and develop cost-effective alternatives
- Create thought leadership content (blogs, white papers) and deliver webinars, trainings, and seminars
- Support account teams with new business opportunities and renewals
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in safety management or related discipline
- Minimum 5 years insurance loss control and/or safety management experience within transportation, healthcare, manufacturing, construction, or other related industry
- FMCSA Certifications and familiarity with FMCSA programs desirable
- Knowledge of Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (49 CFR) and State Regulations
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations for general industry, loss control “best practices” and workers compensation programs required
- Knowledge of NFPA, ANSI and Industrial Hygiene Practices is a plus
- Initiative-taking and able to work without close supervision; make decisions with and without established guidelines
- Provide technical support to clients, brokers, and underwriters
- Excellent verbal and written people skills and client-focused approach
- Broad technical background; strong communication, time management, writing, organizational and computer skills
- CSP and/or safety related designation preferred
- ARM and/or insurance related designation preferred
- Willingness to travel nationally (~35%)
