About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and monthly billings for programs with program management
- Prepare new budget proposals as necessary
- Prepare monthly budget-to-actual analyses
- Prepare monthly billing reports
- Prepare and submit budget modification requests
- Monitor expenditure variances and advise program directors on spending
- Prepare program financial statements for funding sources or program management
- Prepare supporting schedules and analyses for annual audit reviews
- Review financial information for programs and report regularly to finance staff and program management
- Record general ledger entries, including salaries, revenue, and bank reconciliations
- Prepare supporting schedules and miscellaneous reports for funding sources
- Prepare year-end reports for annual audits, including salary reconciliations, bank reconciliations, and leave accruals
- Assist with salary details and schedules for CFR and SSOP reports
- Assist with supporting schedules for Uniform Guidance reports
- Reconcile grants, regular billings, and the general ledger
- Prepare bank reconciliations
- Perform other related duties assigned by the supervisor
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor of Science or higher degree in Accounting
- At least 3–5 years of experience in a not-for-profit setting with contract billing
- CPA desirable but not a requirement
- High level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Experience with HHS Accelerator/Passport helpful
- Experience with CFR and SSOP helpful
- Experience with Great Plains Dynamic helpful but not essential
- Strong analytical and interpersonal skills
- Strong verbal and written skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with employees, management, and external agencies
