Business Development Manager

About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- responsible for driving new business growth through direct revenue contribution and team leadership
- leads the Market Development team in executing a structured sales model
- accountable for improving pipeline mix and increasing contribution from controllable revenue generation tactics
- manages a team of Market Development Managers
- contributes directly to revenue generation in cold-heavy markets
- ensures new business conversion is led with impact
- prioritizes the development of mission-aligned partnerships
- establishes performance expectations, pipeline management standards, and sales accountability measures
- partners cross-functionally to strengthen partnership conversion strategies
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- 4+ years of sales or fundraising experience, with a strong focus on new business development
- 2+ years of team leadership experience
- Proven success in outbound (cold) pipeline development and revenue generation
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate data into action
- Experience managing pipeline, conversion metrics, and sales performance
- **PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS**
- Professionally trained in consultative sales techniques
- Experience in nonprofit fundraising or corporate partnerships
- Experience scaling outbound sales strategies
- Familiarity with CRM systems (Salesforce, HubSpot)
