About the role

  • The Construction Manager is responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and completion of construction projects related to our fiber optic network infrastructure. Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet high-quality standards expected in the telecommunications industry. Oversees construction sites, general contractors, and workers to ensure a high level of quality and safety. Guarantees that all work is performed in accordance with approved manuals and procedures. Provides technical support to Project Managers. Develops and maintains project cost/change controls, and project budget and accounting records. Performs change order estimating and assists the Project Manager in change order negotiations. Assists in managing and reviewing the progress of contractors’ construction schedules. Reports the status of projects to business and market leaders. Attend client program meetings as needed. Reviews weekly and monthly reports on the status and progress of the contracts, including project costs and potential changes. Coordinates and monitors schedule updates, invoices, and submittals. Responsible for daily management of Construction Technicians including scheduling and training. Develop and implement procedures to better organize the team/department. Ensures that the project is constructed and documented in accordance with the contract documents and good engineering practices. Allocation of projects to general contractors based on scheduling needs and availability.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in fiber-optic or telecom construction. Strong understanding of fiber installation methods: aerial, underground, and splicing. Familiarity with fiber troubleshooting. Proven experience managing subcontractors and field crews. Working knowledge of permitting processes and utility coordination. Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills. Valid driver’s license; ability to travel to job sites regularly. High school diploma or equivalent required.
