Accountable for project performance, planning, design and ensuring quality control on commercial, residential, and industrial projects
Carry out and complete multiple project assignments through all project phases
Engineering design and production of site layout, grading, utilities, and detention pond plans
Prepare and oversee reports, calculations, and hydrologic/hydraulic modeling
Plan, schedule, and coordinate work through all phases and with review agencies
Prepare improvement plans, specifications, supporting documents, and permit applications
Review and QC design engineers' work, construction plans, cost estimates, models, and reports
Mentor and oversee design engineers; assign and coordinate work
Attend project meetings and act as liaison with clients, contractors, and consultants
Manage multiple priorities and resources to meet deadlines
Requirements
Responsible for the engineering design and production including site layout, grading operations, utility infrastructure, and detention pond plans
Preparation and oversight of applicable reports, calculations, and modeling programs
Planning, scheduling, and coordinating work product through all project phases independently and on schedule
Coordination with review agencies and multiple project leads
Preparation of improvement plans, specifications, supporting documents, and permit applications for subdivisions, multifamily, commercial, and public works projects
Review construction plans, cost estimates, calculations, models, and reports for accuracy and completeness
Mentor and oversee design engineers; provide direction, training, and guidance
Attend project meetings and serve as point of contact with clients, developers, contractors, and review agencies
Efficient time management to handle multiple projects with minimal supervision
Strong technical expertise in civil engineering design of land development projects
Strong verbal/written communication skills
Strong planning and organizational skills
Experience with regulatory agencies and familiarity with federal, state, and local policies
Experience with project submittal processes
Knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D and associated design software
Broad multi-disciplinary knowledge including land development, transportation, water resources, wastewater, structural, and geotechnical topics
Technical knowledge with hydrology, hydraulics, utility design and associated modeling software (StormCAD, CUHP, EPA SWMM, HEC-RAS preferred)
Strong interpersonal, problem solving, conflict resolution, analytical, and time and resource management skills
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering (preferred)
Current P.E. designation or ability to obtain within 12 months
5+ years of applicable civil engineering experience
