About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Act technically and strategically in conducting environmental permitting processes and managing permit conditions for solar farm projects, ensuring compliance with legislation and environmental best practices
- Conduct environmental licensing processes at federal, state and municipal levels, maintaining interface with competent authorities (IBAMA, OEMAs, IPHAN, INCRA, FUNAI, SVS, protected areas, among others)
- Control, manage and monitor deadlines for issuance, renewal and fulfillment of environmental license conditions
- Manage contractual and technical relationships with suppliers and environmental consultancies, supervising field activities and reviewing technical reports
- Prepare and review technical reports and opinions for projects, ensuring accuracy and compliance
- Respond to official letters and requests from environmental agencies
- Conduct environmental due diligence processes, organizing and analyzing required documentation
- Perform environmental feasibility analyses using databases and georeferencing tools
- Support and interact with internal areas (Engineering, Projects, Land, Supply, ESG and Finance) to ensure environmental issues are addressed during project planning and execution
- Monitor implementation of environmental programs related to physical, biotic and socioeconomic environments
- Support ESG demands related to environmental topics, such as GHG inventory, providing environmental data for indicators, reviewing the sustainability report and supporting meetings
Requirements
What you’ll need- Education: University degree in Environmental Engineering, Forestry Engineering, Biology, Geography or related fields
- Experience: Solid experience in environmental permitting, preferably in renewable energy projects (solar, wind) or infrastructure
- Experience in managing permit conditions and liaising with environmental agencies
- Technical Knowledge: Federal, state and municipal environmental legislation
- Environmental programs and monitoring of permit conditions
- Georeferencing tools (e.g., QGIS, ArcGIS)
- Knowledge of the Rural Environmental Registry (CAR)
- Differentiators: Experience with large-scale construction projects in the solar energy sector
- Behavioral Profile: Organized and detail-oriented. Good communication and negotiation skills. Proactive and autonomous in decision-making. Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams. Commitment to deadlines and results.
