About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform preventive maintenance and basic service on TXRF, XRF, and XRD systems
- Install, maintain, and repair analytical X-ray equipment and related devices
- Troubleshoot systems on-site using a Digital Voltmeter (DVM)
- Qualify instruments after service repairs by executing operational and performance protocols
- Make travel arrangements and generate individual expense reports
- Secure customer acceptance of preventive maintenance or repair work
- Coordinate customer WebEx sessions, phone support, and lab or fab facility inspections
- Attend certified Rigaku product training at the Rigaku factory
- Communicate and work closely with service/support centers
- Travel extensively Monday through Friday, with possible weekend and holiday work, to support scientific and industrial clients
Requirements
What you’ll need- B.S. Degree or equivalent experience
- Minimum 3 years' experience diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electromechanical, and/or electronic equipment
- Working knowledge of MS Office
- Basic understanding of network interfacing
- Valid driver’s license
- Excellent communication skills and ability to explain complex technical issues clearly
- General understanding of analog electronics, high-voltage circuitry, laser technology, and high-vacuum systems
- Ability to interact and communicate with scientists who typically possess advanced degrees in Biochemistry, Biophysics, or Microbiology
- Strong organizational and prioritizing skills
- Ability to work independently with a team focus
- Must be responsive and reliable
- Ability to travel routinely and maintain a current passport/visa as required for international travel
- Occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds
- Ability to manipulate small hand tools
- Must be able to prove legal authorization to work in the United States
