About the role
- Ownership and accountability for full-cycle accounting, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and financial reporting
- Ensure timely preparation of monthly and annual financial statements including related analysis, year end files, tax filings and regulatory reporting
- Supervise and mentor the internal finance team, including overseeing day-to-day operations and performance management
- Prepare and monitor annual and monthly operating expense budgets in collaboration with department leaders
- Oversee and process payroll in collaboration with the Human Resources Team to ensure accuracy
- Monitor KPI’s and provide timely insights and relevant reporting to Director of Finance with the goal of improving firm performance
- Prepare routine and ad-hoc reporting as required to support decision-making or operational needs
- Develop and maintain accounting policies, procedures and internal controls to ensure compliance
- Responsibility for the implementation and continual enhancement of financial systems software and processes to improve efficiency and accuracy
Requirements
- CPA designation
- Previous experience in a similar role
- Knowledge of GAAP, ASPE, financial reporting, and internal controls
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modelling
- Data analysis/visualization (PowerBI experience preferred)
- Technologically proficient with strong critical thinking and communication skills
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
