About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as the first point of contact for employees with workplace concerns.
  • Monitor various reporting methods and intakes.
  • Conduct timely, impartial, and well-documented investigations into employee complaints, policy violations, conduct issues, and alleged noncompliance.
  • Document investigation intake, interviews, evidence review, factual findings, analysis, and conclusions.
  • Own assigned investigations and monitor case status and progress in the case management system.
  • Interpret policies and procedures while working toward resolutions.
  • Facilitate collaborative problem-solving strategies to resolve complaints.
  • Influence, coach, and problem-solve to ensure consistent policy application and uniform employee treatment.
  • Ensure post-investigation actions are completed.
  • Provide ongoing feedback to the Manager II and/or Senior Director, Workforce Solutions.
  • Provide coaching and counseling on workplace issues, including performance management and terminations when necessary.
  • Handle certain administrative tasks as assigned.
  • Work primarily in an office environment with minimal physical effort.
  • Travel overnight approximately 10% of the time may be required.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.
  • 1 to 2 years overall Human Resource experience, including related school work, internships or work experience.
  • Proven track record of relationship building with both internal and external customers.
  • Must be fluently bilingual in French and English.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exemplary customer service skills.
  • Consideration and discretion to evaluate and resolve issues in the best interest of the organization and employees.
  • Good judgment and flexibility to balance legal risk and business needs.
  • Basic consultative skills and ability to coach others to resolve people issues.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and employee relations issues.
  • Tact, timeliness, and political savvy when dealing with employees and managers.
  • Ability to confront and influence others.
  • Ability to handle interpersonal conflict, stressful work conditions, and rejection in a mature, problem-solving, solution-oriented manner.
  • Ability to interpret verbal and non-verbal behavior and understand employee perceptions, needs, and differences.
  • Demonstrated independent judgment and sound, justifiable decision-making.
  • Excellent oral communication skills.
  • Solid knowledge of personal computers, word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
  • Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
