About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Build and sustain client relationships
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for Hospitality clients across projects of varying scale and complexity
  • Guide clients through decisions with clarity, keeping projects on schedule, within budget, and aligned to their goals
  • Represent RFM in communications with clients, consultants, contractors, and jurisdictional staff
  • Prepare proposals, contracts, and amendments that set projects up for success from the start
  • Participate in business development efforts, interviews, and strategic pursuits that strengthen long-term client partnerships.
  • Lead projects with financial discipline
  • Manage project financial performance across a mixed portfolio, from large complex engagements to concurrent smaller interior scopes
  • Develop project workplans, monitor financial performance, forecast resource needs, and maintain healthy project profitability.
  • Anticipate scope and schedule shifts early; manage change with transparency and precision
  • Coordinate engineering and specialty consultants with clear expectations and consistent follow-through
  • Develop the people around you
  • Mentor less experienced project managers, sharing knowledge of project delivery, client management, and technical problem-solving
  • Give staff honest, useful feedback and recognize strong work when you see it
  • Help shape staffing and team structure within the Hospitality group in coordination with firm leadership
  • Contribute to a culture where people feel supported, challenged, and proud of what they deliver
  • Support succession planning by helping emerging project managers build confidence, technical judgment, and leadership skills.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Professional degree in Architecture or Interior Design from an accredited program; both disciplines are equally considered for this role
  • Ten or more years of professional experience; licensure (RA, NCIDQ, or equivalent) preferred but not required
  • Demonstrated track record of leading complex Hospitality projects: casino, hotel, food and beverage, retail, spa, and/or conference environments
  • Demonstrated success managing multiple concurrent projects while balancing client expectations, team resources, schedules, and profitability.
  • Experience managing projects across a range of scales, from large ground-up and complex renovation work to multiple concurrent small and mid-size interior repositioning scopes
  • Technical fluency in building codes, accessibility requirements, life safety, and jurisdictional coordination as applied to interior environments
  • Proven financial acumen: fee management, workplan development, earned value tracking, and project profitability
  • Experience managing and developing project teams; track record of high performance and staff retention
  • Skilled at client relationship management on large, multi-phased engagements
  • Experienced in contracts, scope development, proposal writing, and consultant coordination
  • Experience with project management, accounting, and collaboration software; familiarity with Ajera/BQE, Revit, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office preferred.
  • Ability to travel to project sites and client meetings across the Pacific Northwest and nationally as projects require
  • Applicants must reside in Washington, Oregon, Montana, or Idaho, or be willing to relocate
