About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Coordinate the evolution of the company's data ingestion layer, ensuring that data from different sources (internal systems, APIs, partners, and streams) is captured efficiently, reliably, and at scale into the data lake;
Lead the design, construction, and maintenance of ingestion pipelines (batch and streaming), ensuring performance, resilience, and support for reprocessing;
Define and uphold architectural standards and best practices for data ingestion, including versioning, schema control, partitioning, and incremental load strategies (CDC);
Work on integrations across multiple data sources and systems, ensuring consistency in capture and traceability from the source to analytical consumption;
Prioritize requests and organize the ingestion roadmap, balancing new integrations with the technical evolution of the data platform;
Manage relationships with engineering, product, IT, and external partners, understanding integration needs and translating requirements into structured ingestion solutions;
Ensure pipeline observability, including monitoring, alerts, and failure management, enabling rapid identification and resolution of incidents;
Ensure data quality and integrity from the source by implementing validation, reconciliation, and inconsistency-detection strategies;
Support the team's technical and methodological evolution by promoting standardization of ingestion frameworks, component reuse, and development best practices.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field;
Strong experience in data engineering, with a focus on ingestion, integration, and building data pipelines;
Experience with batch and streaming ingestion, and integration with various source types (APIs, relational databases, event streams, files, etc.);
Experience with cloud architectures (preferably AWS), including ingestion, storage, and orchestration services;
Experience defining ingestion standards, pipeline versioning, and data integration best practices;
Ability to prioritize and organize work in environments with multiple stakeholders;
Experience with monitoring, reliability, and failure handling in data pipelines;
Strong communication and leadership skills to coordinate technical deliveries and align different teams;
Experience managing, developing, and mentoring technical teams, promoting continuous improvement and quality in deliveries.
