Key responsibilities & impact

Prepare and review complex federal and California tax returns for individuals, partnerships, and corporations
Review returns prepared by peers for accuracy, completeness, and technical soundness
Provide tax planning and advisory services, including projections, estimated payments, entity-structure analysis, and year-end planning
Manage IRS and FTB notice response and resolution, including correspondence, transcript review, and representation under power of attorney
Research federal and multi-state tax questions and document conclusions with authoritative support
Maintain organized, well-documented workpapers and meet filing deadlines
Leverage firm technology to work efficiently in a fully paperless environment

Requirements

What you’ll need

Active CPA license or Enrolled Agent credential in good standing required
5+ years of recent public accounting tax preparation experience required
Demonstrated ability to prepare complex individual and business returns required
Strong working knowledge of federal and California tax law required
Experience with professional tax software required
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel required
