About the role
- Lead and manage procurement teams (buyers) across assigned Midwest locations
- Provide coaching, performance management, and professional development for site buyers
- Standardize procurement processes and ensure alignment with corporate procurement policies
- Foster collaboration and best practice sharing across regional sites
- Establish, monitor, and report procurement KPIs (cost savings, supplier performance, on-time delivery, inventory turns, etc.)
- Ensure regional procurement goals align with corporate objectives
- Implement corrective actions where performance gaps are identified
- Develop dashboards and reporting cadence for leadership review
- Identify and execute cost reduction initiatives across OPEX and CAPEX spend categories
- Develop annual savings targets and track performance against budget
- Support annual budgeting process with accurate forecasting and spend analysis
- Lead negotiations to secure favorable pricing, terms, and contracts
- Lead regional strategic sourcing initiatives and cross-site projects
- Drive supplier consolidation, contract optimization, and risk mitigation strategies
- Partner with Operations, Finance, Engineering, and Supply Chain to support capital projects and continuous improvement efforts
- Support implementation of procurement systems and digital transformation initiatives
- Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships
- Conduct supplier performance reviews and drive accountability
- Identify and qualify new suppliers as needed
- Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory standards
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, or related field (MBA preferred) or equivalent experience
- 7+ years of procurement or supply chain experience
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills
- Demonstrated success delivering measurable cost savings
- Analytical mindset with strong financial acumen
- Experience managing KPIs and performance metrics
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive change
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Proficiency in ERP systems and procurement software
