About the role

  • Partner and coach managers on effectively engaging employees to assist in addressing and resolving people and employee relations issues
  • Use data driven HR business insights to provide solutions and recommendations to leadership
  • Support recruitment efforts within the assigned facilities; partner with facility managers to assess workforce planning needs
  • Attend career fairs at local agencies, universities, vocational schools, etc. to source talent for open roles with a focus on improving diversity, equity and inclusion
  • Handle all administrative tasks for onboarding, new hire orientations, exit/stay interviews, including analyzing trends and developing action tracker, status change forms to ensure HRIS System accuracy
  • Serve as point of contact to employees regarding payroll and benefits questions. Responsible for employee newsletters and employee engagement events.
  • Assist in the development, implementation and communication of company policies and procedures
  • Create an environment of positive employee relations; balance business needs with employee needs, establish trust and credibility with employees and be seen as approachable and fair

Requirements

  • Associate's degree required or equivalent college coursework completed. Bachelors preferred, willingness to obtain.
  • PHR or SPHR certification, preferred
  • 3 + years of experience within Human Resources; preferably in a manufacturing environment supporting hourly and salaried workforce
  • Will require some travel to South Region facilities
  • Strong business acumen and influencing skills.
  • Experience handling multiple projects simultaneously and working in an environment which requires flexibility
  • Role model for safety leadership.
  • Self-starter who has a creative approach to implementing HR practices.
  • The successful candidate must have the demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously with minimal supervision and to independently prioritize workload effectively.
  • The ability to effectively interact with all levels of employees is key.
  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Proficient with MS Office products
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
  • Strong knowledge of employment/labor law and progressive HR practices
  • HRIS experience highly desirable, experience with Workday/UKG Kronos a plus
