About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support the implementation of a new payroll software solution, with a primary focus on Finnish payroll
  • Contribute to payroll system enhancements and process optimization initiatives
  • Coordinate payroll data integration between Workday and external payroll providers/systems (Mepco system)
  • Collaborate closely with the new payroll provider to ensure a smooth transition and timely resolution of issues
  • Maintain and continuously improve the Payroll Playbook as the central repository for payroll processes and controls
  • Provide day-to-day support to the payroll team throughout the monthly payroll cycle
  • Assist in processing payroll accurately and on time, ensuring compliance with local tax regulations and company policies
  • Prepare payroll reports, perform reconciliations, and investigate discrepancies
  • Monitor payroll timelines and ensure all required data is received within established deadlines
  • Respond to payroll-related queries from employees, HR, and Finance with a high level of professionalism and customer focus
  • Maintain up-to-date payroll documentation to support audit and compliance requirements
  • Prepare recurring and ad hoc payroll reports
  • Participate in internal and external audits
  • Stay current with changes in payroll legislation and best practices across Europe

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum of 3 years of payroll experience, including hands-on experience with Finnish payroll and exposure to other European countries
  • Experience supporting payroll software implementations, transitions, or process improvement projects
  • Strong understanding of payroll-related accounting, taxation, and compliance
  • Experience working with external payroll providers and payroll systems
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Professional working proficiency in English (written and spoken)
  • Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure to meet strict deadlines
  • Strong customer-service orientation and communication skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Accounting, Finance, or a related field
