About the role
- Manage defined project scopes under the direction of a Project Manager, ensuring alignment with contract requirements and client expectations.
- Coordinate internal discipline teams and external subconsultants to support timely and accurate deliverables.
- Track project schedules, budgets, and progress against milestones; proactively identify risks or scope changes and escalate as appropriate.
- Support preparation and submission of monthly invoicing and assist with financial tracking.
- Maintain organized document control, including meeting minutes, action items, RFIs, submittals, and record drawings.
- Review deliverables for completeness and conformance to project standards prior to submission.
- Serve as a day-to-day point of contact for internal team members and support client communications under the direction of a Project Manager.
- Participate in client, consultant, and subcontractor meetings; prepare agendas, document key decisions, and track action items.
- Ensure alignment between client requirements, project scope, and internal execution plans.
- Communicate schedule updates, risks, and scope clarifications clearly and promptly.
- Coordinate closely with discipline leads to ensure tasks are clearly defined, assigned, and delivered on schedule.
- Provide clear status updates and escalate issues that may impact scope, schedule, or budget.
- Mentor junior project engineers or support staff on project processes and documentation standards as appropriate.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Construction Management, or a closely related field or an associate’s degree in a related field plus substantial relevant industry experience.
- Minimum 2+ years of project management experience in an engineering consulting environment, renewable energy, or similar industry.
- Demonstrated ability to track schedules and basic project financials and support invoicing under PM direction.
- Strong capability managing project documentation, meeting notes, action logs, RFIs/submittals, and deliverable tracking with high accuracy.
- Ability to independently evaluate, select, and apply standard project management procedures.
- Ability to independently manage defined scopes/workstreams with minimal day-to-day oversight; knows when to escalate risks, scope changes, or schedule impacts.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to identify, analyze, and solve complex project issues.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.
- Detail-oriented with a high standard for accuracy and quality.
