About the role

  • Designs, develops, and tests all aspects of mechanical components, equipment, and machinery
  • Assists with designing, developing, executing, and evaluating fitness-for-use testing, product specifications and process validation plans for mechanical products and/or components
  • Uses CAD or CAE software to develop design and produce engineering drawings
  • Verifies designs through calculations and analytical techniques and tools
  • Understands manufacturing processes with emphasis on metal fabrication and assemblies
  • Applies DFM methodologies to improve engineering packages
  • Defines test requirements and interprets test results to validate designs
  • Identifies problems and root causes, defining and executing resolutions
  • Understands and implements lean principles in manufacturing and business processes

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent education required
  • 0-2 years of related experience
  • Skills in computer simulation, cost estimation, design optimization, design review, engineering analysis & design, feasibility study, mathematical analysis & modeling, prototyping, quality assurance process and reliability analysis
  • CAD and CAE software experience
  • Knowledge of manufacturing industry and vocational standards.
  • Experience with problem solving techniques (5 why & root cause analysis)
  • Experience with statistical techniques and data analysis
  • Strong work ethic, highly motivated, organized, and self-disciplined
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute concurrent assignments in a high-pressure environment
  • Strong and consistent attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment
