About the role
- Designs, develops, and tests all aspects of mechanical components, equipment, and machinery
- Assists with designing, developing, executing, and evaluating fitness-for-use testing, product specifications and process validation plans for mechanical products and/or components
- Uses CAD or CAE software to develop design and produce engineering drawings
- Verifies designs through calculations and analytical techniques and tools
- Understands manufacturing processes with emphasis on metal fabrication and assemblies
- Applies DFM methodologies to improve engineering packages
- Defines test requirements and interprets test results to validate designs
- Identifies problems and root causes, defining and executing resolutions
- Understands and implements lean principles in manufacturing and business processes
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent education required
- 0-2 years of related experience
- Skills in computer simulation, cost estimation, design optimization, design review, engineering analysis & design, feasibility study, mathematical analysis & modeling, prototyping, quality assurance process and reliability analysis
- CAD and CAE software experience
- Knowledge of manufacturing industry and vocational standards.
- Experience with problem solving techniques (5 why & root cause analysis)
- Experience with statistical techniques and data analysis
- Strong work ethic, highly motivated, organized, and self-disciplined
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute concurrent assignments in a high-pressure environment
- Strong and consistent attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment
