About the role
- Responsible for all payroll functions and related timekeeping activities.
- Ensures accuracy and efficiency of multi state and multi company payrolls.
- Oversees and identifies issues with time collection system and payroll system.
- Performs routine audits of all HR data, ensuring accuracy and integrity.
- Interprets and implements company policies affecting payroll procedures.
- Assures payroll reporting requirements are followed by employees.
- Perform audits to verify reported payroll hours.
- Reviews time sheets, work charts, and reconciles any discrepancies.
- Balance & transmit weekly and biweekly payrolls, process short term disability and bonus payments.
- Audit all payroll changes including, tax updates, deductions, and garnishments.
- Work with Human Resources in maintaining accurate records on employee absenteeism.
- Meet compliance requirements with statutory reporting and filing requirements.
- Assist Accounting with payroll requests and reports.
- Prepare, audit relevant weekly, monthly, quarterly and year-end reports.
- Support all internal and external audits related to payroll.
- Responds in a timely manner to employee and manager questions regarding payroll.
- Prepare management reports as requested.
Requirements
- Excellent skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Internet Explorer.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion
- Excellent problem solving/judgment skills
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organization skills, recordkeeping abilities, and the abilities to effectively multi-task
- Must have the demonstrated ability to effectively handle a large volume of work
- Team participation in designing and documenting world class payroll processes
- Ability to manage workflow and prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines
- Effective time management skills
- Associate’s degree preferred
- FPC or CPP designation preferred
- Requires minimum of 5 years of payroll and benefits experience performing all payroll functions including the actual generation of a full payroll cycle and reporting.
