About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design, build, and maintain scalable Lakehouse and data warehouse solutions on Microsoft Fabric and Azure Synapse
- Develop, optimize, and deploy ETL/ELT pipelines and reusable frameworks for integrating diverse data sources
- Implement data quality, validation, and transformation logic
- Establish data engineering best practices for coding standards, governance, performance, and automation
- Document models, pipelines, and operational runbooks
- Develop and optimize dimensional and semantic models for BI and analytics
- Integrate diverse source systems into the enterprise data warehouse
- Ensure workloads are scalable, reliable, performant, and secure
- Tune SQL, Spark jobs, and pipeline performance
- Implement monitoring, alerting, and operational practices
- Respond to production incidents, troubleshoot root causes, and implement solutions
- Identify gaps, propose improvements, and drive work to completion
- Implement API integrations and services
- Translate stakeholder requirements into Lakehouse and warehouse solutions
- Communicate progress, risks, and tradeoffs to technical and non-technical audiences
- Work within Agile/Scrum practices, including planning, estimation, and demos
- Collaborate across onshore and offshore teams
- Conduct and participate in code reviews
Requirements
What you’ll need- 2–5 years of hands-on experience in data warehouse/data engineering roles
- Production experience with Azure Synapse, Microsoft Fabric, and Azure Databricks
- Strong SQL plus Python and/or scripting for transformation, automation, and tooling
- Experience building and optimizing ETL/ELT pipelines and data models
- Experience delivering within Agile/Scrum teams
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated initiative, ownership, and reliability delivering production data solutions
- Experience with healthcare data systems preferred
- Familiarity with the ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) domain preferred
- Experience with C# for API integrations and services preferred
- Exposure to AI tools including Azure OpenAI, Claude, and Cursor preferred
- Experience collaborating with distributed or offshore teams preferred
