About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform on-site residential energy audits covering HVAC systems, insulation, windows, lighting, appliances, and building envelope
  • Use blower doors, combustion analyzers, infrared cameras, and other diagnostic tools to assess air leakage and energy performance
  • Collect and analyze utility data, homeowner usage patterns, and building specifications
  • Enter audit data into provided software tools and prioritize energy-saving recommendations
  • Educate homeowners and residents about energy-saving opportunities, rebates, and best practices
  • Perform post-installation inspections to verify completion and effectiveness of energy upgrades
  • Ensure compliance with applicable standards and program requirements
  • Collaborate with contractors, utility representatives, and program managers
  • Maintain accurate records and submit documentation in a timely manner
  • Review QA/QC findings and support quality control for the HEAR program
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to improve Resource Innovations’ program solutions

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Must be located in Metro Arizona
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in energy, construction, environmental science, or related field preferred
  • 2+ years’ experience in field services, quality control/quality assurance, consulting, energy efficiency, or utility work
  • Must hold a current BPI Building Analyst Certification (BPI BA); candidates without this certification will not be considered
  • Knowledge of building science and construction, with required technical expertise
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • HERS and RESNET Rater certification preferred
  • Ability to travel 25% to 75% of the time, with limited overnight travel
  • Experience with SnuggPro is a plus
  • Interest in sustainability and commitment to environmental impact
  • Excellent verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills
  • Spanish-speaking bilingual candidates preferred
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while handling multiple priorities
  • Sound business ethics, including protection of proprietary and confidential information
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and CRM tools
  • Customer service focus
  • Ability to apply detailed organizational procedures independently and serve as a credible resource for senior management
