About the role

  • Deliver high-quality in-home residential energy audits and QA/QC for AEP Ohio HELP program
  • Conduct comprehensive audits focused on income-based program participants
  • Inspect HVAC, insulation, lighting, appliances, and building envelope per program requirements
  • Use diagnostic tools (blower door, duct blaster, watt meter, thermal gun) to assess air leakage and performance
  • Collect and analyze utility data, homeowner usage patterns, and building specifications
  • Input data into provided software and prioritize energy-saving recommendations
  • Educate homeowners about energy-saving opportunities, rebates, and best practices
  • Perform post-installation inspections to verify completion and effectiveness of upgrades
  • Oversee residential weatherization, HVAC and water heating installation inspections and review QA/QC findings
  • Collaborate with contractors, community-based organizations, utility representatives and program managers
  • Maintain accurate records and submit documentation in a timely manner
  • Ensure compliance with applicable standards and program requirements
  • Deliver best-in-class customer satisfaction and support cross-functional program improvements

Requirements

  • Must be located in or near the Columbus, Ohio, area
  • Valid driver's license and personal vehicle to visit customer sites and clients
  • High school diploma or equivalent (Associate or Bachelor's preferred)
  • 2+ years experience in field services/QC/QA, consulting, energy efficiency, or utility programs
  • BPI Quality Control Inspector certification preferred or ability to acquire within 60 days of employment
  • Knowledge of building science, construction, and technical expertise required
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Ability to travel 25% to 75% of the time (limited overnight travel)
  • Interest in sustainability and passion for environmental impact
  • Excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving and decision-making capabilities
  • Highly organized team player with ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Sound business ethics including protection of proprietary/confidential information
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Customer service focus
  • Ability to apply detailed organizational procedures to make independent decisions and serve as credible resource
