About the role
- Deliver high-quality in-home residential energy audits and QA/QC for AEP Ohio HELP program
- Conduct comprehensive audits focused on income-based program participants
- Inspect HVAC, insulation, lighting, appliances, and building envelope per program requirements
- Use diagnostic tools (blower door, duct blaster, watt meter, thermal gun) to assess air leakage and performance
- Collect and analyze utility data, homeowner usage patterns, and building specifications
- Input data into provided software and prioritize energy-saving recommendations
- Educate homeowners about energy-saving opportunities, rebates, and best practices
- Perform post-installation inspections to verify completion and effectiveness of upgrades
- Oversee residential weatherization, HVAC and water heating installation inspections and review QA/QC findings
- Collaborate with contractors, community-based organizations, utility representatives and program managers
- Maintain accurate records and submit documentation in a timely manner
- Ensure compliance with applicable standards and program requirements
- Deliver best-in-class customer satisfaction and support cross-functional program improvements
Requirements
- Must be located in or near the Columbus, Ohio, area
- Valid driver's license and personal vehicle to visit customer sites and clients
- High school diploma or equivalent (Associate or Bachelor's preferred)
- 2+ years experience in field services/QC/QA, consulting, energy efficiency, or utility programs
- BPI Quality Control Inspector certification preferred or ability to acquire within 60 days of employment
- Knowledge of building science, construction, and technical expertise required
- Must be a US Citizen
- Ability to travel 25% to 75% of the time (limited overnight travel)
- Interest in sustainability and passion for environmental impact

- Highly organized team player with ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
