About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Own and grow a portfolio of foundation and philanthropic funders and prospects across the full funding lifecycle
  • Develop and execute annual engagement plans for significant relationships and prospects
  • Serve as a key point of contact for assigned funders and prospects
  • Research and qualify new funding prospects and move them into the pipeline
  • Monitor portfolio performance and pipeline progress against annual revenue and relationship goals
  • Lead complex proposal and concept note development through submission
  • Coordinate cross-functional inputs and shape compelling funding value propositions
  • Ensure timely reporting and compliance with grant terms
  • Coordinate grant agreements, Memoranda of Understanding, and partnership documentation with legal and internal teams
  • Represent RTSL with funders and at events and conferences
  • Coordinate donor field visits, joint communications, and public acknowledgments
  • Maintain accurate pipeline tracking in Monday.com
  • Follow and improve development standard operating procedures, tools, and platforms

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., public health, international development, nonprofit management, communications, business); advanced degree is a plus
  • Minimum 8 years' experience in fundraising, development, or resource mobilization
  • Demonstrated track record of contributing substantially to the cultivation and securing of significant philanthropic awards, including six and seven figure funding
  • Direct experience managing foundation and philanthropic relationships end to end, including proposal development, reporting and renewal
  • Experience in global health, international development, or a comparable mission-driven organization
  • Strong relationship management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Ability to turn technical program content into a compelling case for support
  • Strong project management skills
  • Strong influencing and collaboration skills
  • Ability to mobilize colleagues across functions and levels around funding opportunities, deadlines, and donor commitments
  • Collaborative and flexible team player
  • Ability to operate well in a fast-paced, remote, mission-driven environment
