About the role
- Manage sales efforts across a defined geographic territory to increase sales of large and mid-sized accounts
- Travel regularly within a region making face-to-face sales calls at strategic accounts and prospects
- Build senior level relationships with key customers and identify projects, distribution, service/repair, and hose & fittings opportunities
- Perform consultative selling to target accounts and manage marketing and sales strategies to hit revenue expectations
- Implement intermediate sales analysis and plan to sell Systems, Assemblies, Components, Parts, Hose & Fittings, and related equipment
- Research accounts, identify key players, generate interest, and convert opportunities through relationship building
- Utilize selling skills and partner selection to close sales and deliver quotes as requested
- Maintain and expand prospect database and manage opportunities using Salesforce®
- Embrace company sales program Action Selling® to manage customers and close business
- Assist customers with technical and logistical questions; escalate complex system design issues to engineering
- Maintain in-depth product knowledge and general knowledge of competing lines
- Manage customer issues (RGA’s, warranties, repairs) and file customer purchase orders and records
Requirements
- Mechanical Engineering Degree preferred
- 2 Year fluid power degree or equivalent experience
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Proven outside sales experience; within the fluid power industry a plus
- Track record of over-achieving quota
- Knowledgeable in fluid power systems and electronic controls
- Familiarity with data analysis and reporting
- Experience working with Salesforce® or similar CRM
- Strong listening and presentation skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills; ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively
- Ability to oversee orders from initial entry to customer delivery
- Successful prior leadership experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment
- Self-direction to work independently or within a team environment
- Ability to meet project deadlines with a focus on details
- Ability to travel regularly within a region and make face-to-face sales calls
