About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Supervises the billing staff and is responsible for the proper preparation and maintenance of customer account data
- Ensures accurate and timely bills to customers based on service contract terms
- Coordinates the work of, supervises, coaches, and develops a team of billing employees
- Monitors staff performance and drives performance improvement initiatives
- Sets performance standards and ensures appropriate coverage to meet service goals
- Reviews performance results and makes recommendations where performance falls short
- Supervises and coordinates the entry of new and updated customer contracts into the Company's systems
- Acts as a resource in the research and resolution of complex billing questions and discrepancies
- Participates in cross-functional approaches to credit & collections, customer service, and operations
Requirements
What you’ll need- 2 -4 years of related billing experience at a progressively responsible level
- At least 1 year in which the incumbent supervised others or acted in a lead capacity
- Ability to professionally and cooperatively interact and communicate with area and division leadership, staff, and customers
- Capability to demonstrate initiative to thoughtfully and fully research and follow up on non-standard situations
- Ability to effectively coach, mentor and train others to meet performance expectations
- Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and tasks and meet deadlines
- Knowledge and understanding of billing transactions and processes
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365: Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.
