Identify and implement third party waste disposal and recycling solutions aligning with Area operations, inventory control, and P&L goals.
Review inbound waste profiles and related documents for completeness to ensure environmental compliance, health and safety.
Draft and submit waste profiles to approved vendors for review and approval.
Identify potential waste stream problems and suggest alternative treatment and/or recycling options for customers.
Analyze and recommend the use of alternative sources or materials to reduce costs.
Assist customers and operations in gathering all required information for 3rd party waste approvals in a timely manner.
Recertify waste streams at various 3rd party locations.
Vet waste profiles through all Republic Services and/or its affiliates technologies prior to suggesting 3rd party processing.
Support Sales with 3rd party pricing for bid opportunities and other customer requests.
Assist Revenue Management with 3P vendor price book maintenance.
Perform market and industry trend analysis, evaluate supply sources, and assist stakeholders in identifying solutions to their needs.
Review vendor pricing and suggest vendor cost concessions when appropriate.
Analyze and evaluate hazardous waste suppliers.
Prepare related reports and provide analysis to senior leadership and internal stakeholders as appropriate.
Develop effective management presentation materials based on findings, including professional display of information.
Communicate regularly with internal stakeholders to maintain knowledge of the stakeholder’s business and opportunities and anticipate their needs/requests.
Lead multiple projects simultaneously, including process planning and supplier quality improvement efforts.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned or apparent.
Requirements
Expert knowledge of RCRA, DOT, TSCA and state regulations.
Knowledge of waste characterization principles and practices including analysis and evaluation, and waste processing protocols.
Advanced knowledge of MS Office Suite.
Ability to analyze waste volumes and vendor spend information to suggest cost savings.
Ability to effectively communicate, both written and verbally, with customers and stakeholders.
Ability to effectively manage multiple projects or tasks with varying and sometimes competing timelines.
Advanced analytical and decision-making abilities.
Experience working at a RCRA Part B permitted TSDF
Experience negotiating pricing and customer terms.
4 - 7 years of overall relevant work experience.
