About the role
- Responsible for the overall operation, coordination and productivity of SAR department functions.
- Identify technology and process needs for Supplier Accounts Receivable.
- Create, implement, and ensure adherence to processes, procedures, compliance expectations and accountability, in order to maintain consistency.
- Directly assist in resolution and/or provide direction in the resolution of complex supplier receivable related issues.
- Develop, update, communicate, and enforce collections policies and procedures.
- Actively manage the Company’s financial risks through analysis and thorough understanding of material collection issues as well as active communication with Operations, Accounting, and Legal (when necessary).
- Provide a formalized monthly SAR management report.
- Use sound judgment to know when specific supplier issues need to be directly communicated to executive management and provide this communication in a clear and concise manner both in written and verbal form.
- Conducts and attends meetings, seminars, training sessions and budget reviews.
- Develops best practices, training, production standards, and goals.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent (preferably in accounting, finance, economics, or supply chain management.)
- 10 years’ experience in related field with 5 years management experience
- Experience in managing relationship-based collections in a high dollar and high-volume environment preferred
- Proven ability to manage and resolve complex issues through analysis, research, creativity, and negotiation, and hands-on experience with system conversions and acquisitions is preferred.
- 5 years previous management in finance with an alcoholic beverage wholesaler or supplier preferred.
- Industry knowledge either at the supplier or wholesaler with management position responsible for performance of a department, financial analysis skills, likes to make change, and has the fortitude to hold people accountable for their performance and policies and procedures.
- Ability to travel as needed.
