About the role
- Lead the month-end close process, including preparation of journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Prepare and analyze GAAP-compliant financial statements, balance sheet reconciliations, and divisional financial packages for leadership.
- Partner with FP&A and divisional leaders to support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis, providing insights that drive performance.
- Serve as a key liaison for external auditors; prepare schedules and documentation to support audit requirements.
- Strengthen and maintain internal controls, accounting policies, and compliance procedures across multiple business units.
- Drive process improvements by streamlining workflows, enhancing reporting capabilities, and leveraging ERP and automation tools.
- Act as a resource and mentor for junior accounting staff, fostering a culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuous learning.
- Operate in a fast-paced, private equity-backed environment focused on unifying brands and streamlining operations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
- CPA license preferred (or actively pursuing).
- 2–4 years of progressive accounting experience; public accounting (Big 4 or national firm) strongly preferred.
- Deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP and experience preparing complex financial statements.
- Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, NetSuite) and advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, modeling).
- Strong analytical skills with a track record of identifying issues, proposing solutions, and driving execution.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills; able to influence stakeholders across functions.
- Thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment with multiple priorities and tight deadlines.
