About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide support to the Accountant and maintain accounting records for a number of Group cost centers.
- Support the month-end process for Central Overheads, including monthly accruals/prepayments and journals in line with the relevant accounting policies and procedures.
- Maintain and reconcile the balance sheet.
- Maintain and reconcile tangible assets and Soft 4 database.
- Support the preparation of monthly management accounts for RI 1927 PLC Co 1000 by WD6
- Support the production of the monthly reporting packs for Legal, Co Sec Finance & Property cost centre managers
- Support the production of the quarterly slide deck and associated summaries for the Finance and Legal quarterly business review
- Prepare, maintain and reconcile cashbook for RI 1927 PLC Barclays account on a monthly basis
- Preparation of less complex MMAs for month-end
- Assist with audit queries
- Preparation of detailed process notes, including highlighting the controls, across all areas of the Reporting team
- Additional responsibilities as required on an ad hoc basis
Requirements
What you’ll need- Studying for an ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent qualification
- A-Level or equivalent in a numerical subject is essential
- Prior experience of accounting in a large corporate environment is an advantage
- Some experience in financial reporting and application of GAAP and IFRS is an advantage
- Demonstrated proficiency in the use of accounting and finance technology tools (e.g. Excel and ERP systems)
