About the role

  • Responsible for the qualification, development and continuous improvement of supplier quality and performance
  • Reducing quality costs within the respective material groups
  • Supporting supplier inquiries / RFx / supplier selection
  • On-site development of suppliers with respect to measurement methodology, product characteristics, specifications/drawings and other requirements
  • Approving materials during the project lifecycle based on defined milestones
  • Conducting regular audits as lead auditor to ensure and improve quality, and to define and track corrective and improvement actions
  • Cooperating with Procurement, Design/Engineering, Quality and Manufacturing departments
  • Analyzing and optimizing internal and external processes, and participating in or leading global projects/tasks within the supply chain
  • Shaping supplier management processes, methods and tools with a focus on supplier selection, evaluation and development
  • Ensuring quality objectives are met from audits, project work and quality deviations

Requirements

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • 3–5 years of experience in supplier quality, ideally in mechanical engineering / the automotive industry
  • Experience in an industrial production environment with a focus on mechanical processing/machining
  • Qualified as an auditor for VDA 6.3 and ISO 9001, and ideally also AQAP 2110/2310
  • Knowledge of SAP and MS Office, and familiarity with quality planning methods (e.g. APQP, QFD, FMEA)
  • Business-fluent German and English (written and spoken)
  • Willingness to undertake regular international business travel
  • Team-oriented working style, conflict management skills, assertiveness and high resilience
