About the role

  • Responsibility for qualifying, developing, and continuously improving supplier quality and performance.
  • Reducing quality costs within the respective material groups.
  • Supporting supplier inquiries/RFx/supplier selection.
  • Supporting and developing suppliers on-site regarding measurement methodology, product characteristics, specifications/drawings, or other requirements.
  • Acceptance of materials during the project lifecycle based on defined milestones.
  • Conducting regular audits to ensure and improve quality as well as defining and tracking optimization measures.
  • Close cooperation with purchasing, design/engineering, quality, and manufacturing departments.
  • Analyzing and optimizing internal and external processes; participating in or leading global projects/tasks within the supply chain.

Requirements

  • Degree in mechanical engineering or a comparable field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in supplier quality, preferably in mechanical engineering or the automotive industry.
  • Qualification as an auditor for VDA 6.3, ISO 9001, and ideally AQAP 2110/2310.
  • Knowledge of SAP and MS Office.
  • Methodical knowledge in quality planning (e.g., APQP, QFD, FMEA) and common problem-solving methods (e.g., 8D, 4Why, Ishikawa, Six Sigma, SPC).
  • Fluent German and English skills, both written and spoken.
  • Willingness to travel internationally for business.
