About the role
- Oversee interconnection processes and conduct pertinent studies for solar, battery energy storage, and EV site projects across the United States.
- Submit interconnection requests and serve as primary point of contact with utilities throughout interconnection and construction.
- Manage project queue positions, track interconnection processes, study timing, schedule impacts, and interconnect requests.
- Negotiate interconnection study results and interconnection agreements with utilities toward favorable project outcomes.
- Coordinate efforts to meet interconnection requirements, including applications, studies, agreements, and post-IA milestones.
- Manage engineering to complete interconnection designs and updates; review technical deliverables and supervise external consultants.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders (Construction Managers, EPC contractors, legal, Asset Management, site acquisition) and prepare comprehensive utility submittal packages.
- Serve as company representative at stakeholder meetings; track tariff changes and interconnection reform.
- Maintain company interconnection process and procedure manual.
- Perform acquisition due diligence to identify project-level interconnection execution risk.
Requirements
- 3 -5 years’ experience in renewable energy interconnection and/or transmission planning.
- Proactive communicator and driven to advance team and company goals.
- Experience managing budgets and processes.
- Rigorous attention to detail, work ethic, personal responsibility, work product ownership, and organizational skills.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, public speaking, and influencing abilities coupled with exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced business environment.
- Effective analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to resolve time-sensitive issues with precision.
- Driven, resourceful, and comfortable working in an entrepreneurial environment.
- Travel required as needed.
- Energy, planning, real estate, engineering, or business-related master’s degree is a plus.
