Bookkeeper

About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Record and categorize all financial transactions in a timely and accurate manner
- Reconcile accounts, including bank statements, credit cards, and other financial records
- Manage accounts payable and receivable
- Prepare financial reports such as profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and relevant accounting standards
- Assist in payroll preparation and ensure accurate reporting of payroll data
- Support the preparation of tax returns and liaise with external accountants or auditors when required
- Maintain and organize financial documents, ensuring secure and proper filing
- Monitor and manage budgets, alerting management to any discrepancies or potential issues
- Contribute to the development of financial best practices and improve efficiency in bookkeeping processes
Requirements
What you’ll need- Proven experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar role
- Strong proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, or other platforms)
- Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping principles and financial reporting
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Workspace tools
- Experience with remote collaboration tools (e.g., Slack, Zoom, or Teams)
- Knowledge of tax regulations and compliance requirements is a plus
- Certification in Bookkeeping, Accounting, or a related field (preferred)
