About the role

  • Manage the end-to-end accounting function for UK SME clients
  • Ensure compliance with UK GAAP (FRS 105, FRS 102 Section 1A, and full FRS 102 as applicable)
  • Prepare management accounts and monthly reporting packs
  • Deliver statutory compliance submissions and VAT returns
  • Provide Fractional CFO (FCFO) services including: Cash flow analysis, Forecasting, Performance insights for business leaders
  • Liaise with UK auditors and tax advisors to ensure regulatory compliance
  • Drive improvements to reduce month-end close timelines
  • Conduct quality reviews of accounts prepared by the production team
  • Provide structured feedback and ensure technical accuracy
  • Support the Production Manager in monthly management meetings
  • Assist with planning Work in Progress (WIP) for the following four weeks
  • Monitor deadlines and workflow planning
  • Maintain and develop CRM dashboards tracking WIP and upcoming deadlines
  • Support the onboarding team with initial client assessments
  • Provide insights and action plans for delivery teams
  • Ensure deadlines and compliance requirements are clearly communicated

Requirements

  • CIMA Qualified (or equivalent)
  • 3–5 years’ post-qualification experience in the UK market
  • Strong technical knowledge of UK GAAP (FRS 102 / FRS 105)
  • Experience working with UK SMEs
  • Tech-savvy with experience using cloud accounting systems and CRM tools
  • Strong communication skills with a client-friendly, professional approach
  • Proactive mindset with a focus on process improvement
  • Commitment to continuous professional development (e.g., Tolley, UK tax updates, innovation programmes)
