About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Evaluating submissions rigorously against the journals’ requirements.
  • Support a culture of collaboration, creativity, and high standards.
  • Building global networks and commissioning exciting papers within the scope of the journal (including insightful front matter articles).
  • Working closely with the Cell Press editorial family, the production and operation team, as well as the business development and marketing team to support cross-journal initiatives and share best practices.
  • Representing Cell Genomics and Cell Press at conferences and public forums, showcasing the journal’s impact and engaging with the broader scientific community.
  • Traveling to participate in domestic & international conferences and visiting research institutes to engage with researchers.
  • Collaborating with editorial teams of relevant Cell Press journals.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • A Ph.D. in any area related to the topics that Cell Genomics covers
  • At least 5 years of editorial experience
  • Ability to think critically about a wide range of scientific issues
  • Interest in engaging with the scientific community
  • Talent for distilling complex concepts and communicating them
  • Strong teamwork skills and a collaborative problem-solving mindset
  • Strong time management and organizational skills, with the ability to balance a range of priorities to achieve overall team goals
  • The ability to work well in diverse team settings
  • Have an interest in science communication and publishing trends
