About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- This role mines litigation data, revealing insights never before available about judges, lawyers, parties, and the subjects of the cases themselves, culled from millions of pages of litigation information.
- Writes material from a variety of sources for the organization's online/digital platforms (including broadband and mobile) in accordance with the established editorial and style guidelines.
- Performs routine assignments in the entry level to professional job progression.
- Analyze, edit, code and annotate court documents for manual data enrichment necessary to be captured by Lex Machina legal analytics product.
- Responsible for identifying, analyzing, coding and annotating properties, findings, outcomes (including damages), identifying expert witnesses, and building a detailed timeline linking all the briefs, motions orders, opinions and other filings for every case.
- Possess an intermediate knowledge of US laws and courts system, and/or a strong desire and commitment to gain knowledge of US laws and courts system.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Must be a law graduate or with a Juris Doctor degree (no remaining units in law school)
- Legal practice and/or legal industry experience
- Sound level of computer literacy - Knowledgeable of Microsoft Office programs especially MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and MS Excel
- Must have excellent analysis and research skills
- Team player, detail oriented
- Average reading, legal comprehension, analytical, quantitative, and deductive reasoning skills
- Legal comprehension, and proofreading skills
- Strong commitment to performance and team success
- Demonstrate ability in the application of expert information to practical publishing environment
- Ability to quickly learn and apply enterprise AI tools and technologies to support technical workflows and business objectives
