About the role
- Provide leadership, management, direction, and vision to data engineering and/or employees.
- Collaborate extensively with technology colleagues, product and project leaders.
- Ensure the successful completion and delivery of assigned data components.
- Maintain high-quality data pipelines that power legal research tools and AI-driven solutions.
- Write advanced complex code for computer systems and be a senior source of expertise.
- Interact with Product Management, Engineering, and Operations teams to plan product delivery.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in Data and Scoring Engineering, data management, and data strategy.
- 2+ years’ management experience.
- Bachelor’s Degree (Engineering/Computer Science preferred but not required); or equivalent experience required.
- Advanced understanding of data engineering methodologies, processes, and process improvement.
- Leads the development and execution of performance and automation scripts for large-scale projects.
- Knowledge in normalized/dimensional data modeling principles.
- Strong proficiency in database technology, design and manipulation, optimization, and best practices.
- Strong proficiency in writing complex SQL queries (preferably MySQL).
- Strong research and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lead small to medium-sized team(s).
