About the role
- Produce clear, accurate analyses for research evaluation and strategy projects.
- Prepare, clean, and blend data from multiple sources; ensure data quality and reproducibility.
- Develop insightful visualizations and written insights that communicate complex ideas simply.
- Engage with internal teams and external partners to understand needs and propose analytical approaches.
- Apply statistical or computational techniques to support modelling, benchmarking, and evaluation work.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a data analyst or similar role.
- Python skills (including data manipulation libraries); PySpark experience preferred.
- Familiarity with AI/LLM technologies, in particular programmatic use of LLMs and other AI models' APIs/libraries or self-hosted model workflows.
- Experience extracting and modelling data using SQL/pyspark/etc.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences.
- Strong relationship-building, negotiation, and intercultural communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and deliver high-quality outputs on time.
- Interest in research/science policy, science diplomacy, scientific funding systems, and the role of research/science in society.
- Understanding of academic research workflows or prior experience working with research institutions.
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau).
