About the role
- Leads and manages large and key initiatives projects for the Investments department.
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams to deliver Investment priorities.
- Manages large and/or complex projects through the project lifecycle.
- Manages project intake, identifies the project team, develops charters and project plans.
- Provides regular status dashboards and updates on the progress of projects.
- Ensures projects are applying best practices to achieve the highest degree of project success.
- Aids in accomplishing strategic goals and objectives for Investments.
- Carries out all agreed-upon department goals and objectives.
- Collaborates with other project managers on project/program interdependencies, managing risks, executive level reporting, and executing on strategic goals and objectives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent related work experience
- 10+ years in a project management and/or business analyst position
- Hands-on experience in managing complex, technical projects
- Process improvement experience
- PMP, CSM or other relevant professional designation preferred
- 5+ years in insurance/reinsurance preferred
- Six Sigma or other process improvement training preferred
- OCM (Organizational Change Management) Prosci certification preferred
- Intermediate MS Office skills (Word, PowerPoint, Project, and Excel)
- Proficient project management skills
- Ability to be flexible when needed, take initiative, and demonstrate accountability through ambiguity
- Strong oral and written communication skills demonstrating ability to share and impart knowledge
- Keen understanding of project dependencies and interdependencies
- Ability to quickly adapt to new methods and work under tight deadlines
- Highly advanced ability to manage & prioritize multiple projects and/or teams simultaneously, in accordance with goals
- Advanced investigative, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and coordinate team activities
- Intermediate ability to work well in an environment with multiple concurrent projects, cyclical workflow and demanding time frames
- Highly advanced ability to translate and document business needs and problems into viable/accepted solutions
- Ability to conceptualize and design multiple ideas/solutions for projects
- Highly advanced ability to liaise with individuals across a wide variety of operational, functional, and technical disciplines
- Strong ability to initiate, think outside the box, execute, and bring ideas to fruition
- Ability to translate business needs and problems into technical solutions
- Highly advanced persuasion and negotiation skills when working with internal and external customers
- Insurance Industry knowledge preferred
- Experience in a Project Management Office preferred
- Wrike user experience preferred
- Visio experience preferred
- Ability to organize, plan and execute working sessions for process improvement
