About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • You are responsible for trade sales across our entire portfolio — from specialist books and journals to e-books, databases, digital archives and workflow solutions.
  • You develop and maintain relationships with decision-makers in specialist, general and online book retail, as well as wholesalers, platform partners and procurement service providers; you hold regular meetings and develop joint marketing and growth plans.
  • You independently negotiate framework agreements and terms and conditions and conduct contract renewals and development negotiations.
  • You oversee the preparation and distribution of the trade preview and coordinate our product communications to the trade.
  • You are the main point of contact for our trade partners when data, information or materials are missing and ensure fast resolutions.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Several years of experience in sales at a (specialist) publisher, provider of specialist information or within the book trade, with responsibility for trade partners
  • Solid understanding of distribution dynamics in the book trade and proven negotiation skills for framework agreements, terms and marketing agreements
  • Experience selling digital products and licensed content via trade and platform partners
  • Ideally experience working with a sales CRM
  • Strong communication skills, reliability and proactive relationship management
