About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • You manage and develop a diverse portfolio (professional books, journals, databases, digital workflow solutions) across the entire value chain — from concept to commercial success.
  • You initiate and facilitate activities such as Design Thinking workshops, validate new product ideas with target groups, and successfully bring innovations to market.
  • You manage existing collaborations, expand strategic partnerships (including with public authorities, associations, and major clients), and develop new networks.
  • You oversee relevant KPIs (e.g., revenue per customer, new-customer figures, CAC, contribution margin) and work closely with marketing, sales, publishers, and executive management.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • You have a solid foundation for fulfilling your responsibilities, e.g., a degree in business administration, law, or media (including media informatics).
  • Several years of practical experience in product, portfolio, or project management — ideally in a digital environment.
  • Knowledge of legal or social contexts (e.g., family law, youth welfare offices, care services) and insights into the publishing or media industry are a plus.
  • You are strongly customer-oriented, analyze target groups in a structured way, and develop economically viable solutions based on innovation methods (e.g., Design Thinking).
  • You think entrepreneurially, manage portfolios based on metrics, and approach challenges in a solution-oriented manner with clarity and reliability.

Benefits

Comp & perks
  • Work–life balance — mobile work and a 35-hour workweek allow flexible and hybrid working arrangements.
  • Significant scope for influence — you have the opportunity to actively shape processes, structures, and systems, creating real relief for yourself, your team, and our customers.
  • Personal development — we support your individual development and professional exchange.
  • Culture & collaboration — we foster open communication, short decision paths, and cooperation at eye level.
  • Health & well-being — your health matters to us: company doctor, health initiatives, and offers such as Urban Sports Club, Gympass, “DuMont bewegt sich” or yoga.
  • Food & mobility — enjoy a fresh canteen, barista bar, commuter ticket, company bike (JobRad), and bicycle parking.
